YPE Bay Area Mentorship Program
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Focus on advancing young professionals in their careers in the energy sector.
Year-long program with cohort of mentor-mentee pairs.
Regular one-on-one meetings between mentors and mentees.
YPE organized in-person events to foster strong mentor-mentee relationships.
WHO SHOULD APPLY TO BE A MENTEE?
Young professionals with less than 5 years of experience in the energy sector. Mentees are interested in starting, transitioning, or advancing their careers in the energy sector.
WHO SHOULD APPLY TO BE A MENTOR?
Experienced professionals with more than 5 years of experience in the energy sector. Mentors should have a desire to help a younger generation of professionals start or advance their careers in energy.
YPE Mentorship Commitment:
Mentors and mentees must commit to the following terms of the program:
-Frequency: Mentor/ mentee pairs will arrange one-on-one meetings (in person or virtual) to take place during the course of the program. All participants must commit to at least 6 meetings over the course of the year (in-person mentorship events arranged by YPE can count towards this if both the mentor and mentee are in attendance).
- Cancellation policy: mentors and mentees will provide 48 hours notice if you need to cancel/ reschedule an appointment
- Participants will be on time to all meetings with your mentor/mentee, whether in person or virtual
-Participants will attend the majority of mentorship events arranged by YPE.

Early May: Mentor/Mentee Applications Open
May 31: Mentor/Mentee Applications Close
End of June: Mentor/Mentee Pairs Notified of Matches
July: Mentorship Kickoff Event
In-person mentorship events: Dates TBD
July 2019 - June 2020: Mentor/mentee pairs meet regularly
